Leeming Bar lies just off the A1 in the Vale of Mowbray between the Yorkshire Dales and the North York Moors.
The village has a small station which is the eastern terminus of the Wensleydale Railway which runs to Redmire (near Castle Bolton in the heart of Wensleydale).
